Liposuction or Liposculpture are plastic surgery outpatient procedures performed to remove fat deposits.  These fat deposits have often failed to respond to diet and exercise. The most frequent target areas for liposuction are the thighs, hips, abs, knees  buttocks or love handles.

Another area to consider is Facial liposculpture, also known as submental liposuction.  This procedure involves the removal of fat from under the chin and neck.  This procedure is popular among both men and women and anyone above the age of 18 who is in good health may be a good candidate for a liposuction procedure.

Body Contouring After Weight Loss: After having significant weight loss, excess skin may be present on a patient. This excess skin may sag and hang loosely making you feel self-conscious, despite the tremendous weight loss. To remove this extra sagging skin, the Orange County Plastic Surgeon Dr. K. Charles Kim can perform several liposuction and/or liposculpture procedures to correct this. Frequently, weight loss patients elect to have what is called "body lift" surgery performed on them. This surgical procedure can prove to be very effective with enhancing the aesthetic appearance of patients who have undergone gastric bypass surgery or other bariatric procedures.  By reducing areas of excess skin in the abdomen, arms, thighs and buttocks, Dr. Kim can help his patients gain a pleasing, svelte look to go along with their fantastic weight loss. Ultrasound Liposuction Surgery: Ultrasonic liposuction is where excess fat is liquefied using sound waves. This is done in order to help make fat removal easier as well as smoother during the following liposuction procedure. Ultrasonic liposuction is a more advanced form of both regular lipoplasty and tumescent liposuction.  A procedure such as this is used to get VERY precise body contouring results. Ultrasonic liposuction is used by Orange County Plastic Surgeon Dr. K. Charles Kim for treating areas on your body with very dense fat deposits.  In addition, from those for which a large amount of fat removal needs to take place, the procedure will also generally be utilized. Ultrasonic liposuction is far superior to other forms of liposuction, since it provides extreme precision and leaves NO loose skin.  This happens in virtually every other type of liposuction.

Laser Liposuction Surgery, or "Smart Lipo": Smartlipo is a more recently adopted fat removal procedure than traditional liposuction.  It's primary advantage is that it is less invasive. The "smart lipo" procedure is performed under a local anesthetic.  It involves inserting a small cannula (a type of tube) near the targetted body region. A laser is then applied through the cannula to break down excessive fat cells.  These broke-down cells are then naturally removed by the body’s natural waste removal functions. The smartlipo procedure permanently melts away the affected fat cells. Smart lipo is ideal for treating smaller areas of the face, arms, neck, male breasts (gynecomastia), inner and/or outer thighs, the knees and any other areas of loose skin.

Male Flank Liposuction, Love Handle Liposuction: The male flanks, sometimes commonly referred to as love-handles, are located just above the crest of the hip bone. The male flanks are caused by an accumulation of fat that bulges up and over the belt-line in a most unflattering fashion.  This can be accentuated in a negative way by a pair of pants with a tight belt. When viewed from behind, the bulging male flanks appear bigger because the largest bulk of the male flank tends to be located toward the back. Flank liposuction is a fast surgical procedure with fantastic and rapid results that leave little, if any, scarring. This is a very popular liposuction procedure with Dr. Kim's male patients.

Female Flank Liposuction: In women, the area below the bra strap is commonly designated as the "female flank". This area in women is a common target for liposuction.  Most candidates are at least somewhat overweight. Flank liposuction is a fast procedure with great results that leaves little, if any, scarring.

Hip Liposuction: Liposuction of the hips is usually required in order to narrow the patient's midsection and allow for a more streamlined, sleek appearance. This rapid procedure yields immediate results and Dr. Kim's Orange County patients commonly find this procedure exceptionally pain-free.

Knee Liposuction: Liposuction of the knees yields very quick and rewarding results for our Orange County patients. This quick procedure, like all of our other liposuction procedures is performed in our Orange County fully accredited outpatient surgical suites.

Body Contouring Plastic Surgery: A fully-customized cosmetic liposculpture surgery procedure that can solve body contour problems outright.  The problems can be caused by unwanted fat deposits in certain body areas such as your abdomen, hips, buttocks, thighs, arms, knees, ankles and calves.
