Breast reduction methods need to vary on a patient-by-patient basis. The most common technique involves making an anchor shaped incision around the patient's areola region. This incision extends downward and follows the natural curve of the crease beneath the patient's breast. Through the incision, Plastic Surgeon Dr. K. Charles Kim removes excess skin, fat and glandular tissue as well as adjusts the nipple to its new position. Dr. Kim then reshapes the breast and carefully stitches the incision.  Especially in this case among all others, Dr. Kim's goal is to ALWAYS involve the least amount of scarring for the patient. In some cases, the vertical part of the scar can be eliminated altogether. The stitches are usually removed in one to three week's time, with each patient being different.
